The hate emails have been pouring in since I allegedly maligned Texas Wesleyan School Of Law in my post, “Think Law School Rankings Don’t Matter?” I have nothing against Texas Wesleyan. Other than their tier ranking, I admittedly know very little about the school. I know several attorneys who graduated from there. I know several law student currently matriculating there. They are all smart, good people. I have never dated or asked out a Texas Wesleyan law student. I have no idea if they are “easy” or not.
The piece was a satire of law school tier rankings, nothing more. I had hoped the highly educated would have a little bit more of a sense of humor and notice that I also poked fun at my own law school , University of Pittsburgh as well as my undergraduate school Penn State. I however, am willing to admit that not everything I intend to be funny actually plays out that way.
So to any Texas Wesleyan, University of Pittsburgh, Southern Methodist University law students and any attorneys/graduates of those schools who may have been offended by my attempt at satiric humor, my sincere apologies.

Most of the time humor turns out to offend someone, in fact, that really what makes it funny. Also that it is based on some inherent truth. You are right to release a disclaimer, you were merely stating an opinion on facts. I however did find your critique of law school tier rankings rather amusing. What's in a name…It's all about what you do it.

It never ceases to amuse me when students of crappy law schools try to talk up their moot court teams. "You Ivy kids, all you learn is theory. [insert crappy law school here] trains real lawyers! Our trial advocacy program is tops in the nation!"
Sure it is, buddy. Sure it is.

Kudos to the law student who wrote that complaint email. I appreciate the apology, but not the back handed manner in which it was delivered. "I apologize, but not really because you should just have more of a sense of humor".
Wesleyan is not a Tier 1 school, which will make it more difficult for us to find jobs, but that's no reason to make demeaning comments about the women, (or "girls" as you put it) who attend the school. This type of "humor" is just classless and juvenile.
It's a young law school and as time passes, it will gain more and more prestige. Dallas County District Atty. Craig Watkins attended there after all, so all can't be lost. I graduate in December, and I will prove you wrong as well.

Yeah sure — "pouring in". I've got news for you dude: the vast majority of people don't care what your opinion is. About anything. And it's no great revelation that Texas Wesleyan is not a big-name school — that it is not very prestigious. In fact, I'm sure the vast majority of people — both in and outside of Texas — have never heard of it. Can't you find anything better to do than malign it?

I always get a chuckle when people care what I think enough to come tell me they don't care what I think. You must be at "tier 5 " law school

FYI, bar results for July exam just came out, and our little tier 4 school had a 93.3% passage rate, beating SMU, UT Austin, and University of Houston among others….
