Paul McCartney has compared Global Warming skeptics to Holocaust Deniers. It’s nothing new here. I have written on this before, criticizing Al Gore for his attempt to build credibility and line his pockets on the backs of 11 million murdered. When people are desperate, and the facts are in dispute, they scream loudly with outlandish rhetoric to draw attention to the cause with motives something less than the nobility of affirming the truth and horror of the Holocaust. One would think that Sir Paul demands enough attention on his own without having to resort to such ignorant tactics. I would love to sit down with him to find out what he really knows about the Holocaust or if he is simply parroting Al Gore’s inappropriate use of the imagery. Nothing more to be said. More of the sad old same old.

Or, he's right. Perhaps, the global warming phenomena continues and millions are displaced, crops are destroyed, land becomes scarce, more wars & battle are fought, and the rates of cancer continue to rise as more and more air & water become toxic.
Shouldn't we err on the side of safety & precaution?

That would be calling it a holocaust and not comparing it to the Holocaust. I see a difference there.

Old saying. "A motor that knocks too much, there's usually something wrong." Sir Paul loses credibility with his hyperbole, even if, indeed, it turns out that he was right. The lesson is, less is sometimes more when trying to make an emphatic point. Sir Paul earns dismissal from many with his comparison. But…HE'S A BASS PLAYER, FOR GOD'S SAKE! So why folks value his opinion on the matter is yet another story. As a scientist, he's a great musician.

Actually, it's a good analogy. And though it may not be Bush's "fault", he IS to blame for 8 years of continued denial there might even BE a problem. Paul's a musician having an opinion, Bush was someone who COULD have done something and didn't. Big difference. You may disagree with one's opinion (even if, in this case, it's valid), but you cannot deny the other's part in the problem.

I think a better analogy would be to people who think Pluto is still a planet… That way there is no unnecessary imagery to 6 million people being murdered, but the idea of ignorance is still conveyed.
