as a former member of the U.S. ARMED FORCES i find it disgraceful that one would claim to have been awarded such an honor when they have not. furthermore any who would claim this is more likely a coward who would curled up and cried in a puddle of their own urine in the face of the enemy and probably never saw combat other than that combat which they performed to avoid the actual fighting a garret trooper. i served with such men and am ashamed to have to admit this. these men caused more harm than good to the units in which they served and are a disgrace to the uniform.

I really think its more than lying. Many of these folks have personal gain by wearing, displaying, or verbally saying they were a Hero. Many use it to gain VA services above what the average Veteran would receive.
Many even doctor up their discharge papers DD 214 to obtain this.
Bar room talk or bragging to pick up a date is one thing, but if you calaim to be a Hero to gain employment,
or maybe politicial gain, this is wrong.
I sure would not wear a Judges robe or wear a Police Offers uniform. Would not that give the inpression to others, I was someone who I was not.
